Monique is AMAZING to work with for weddings! Flowers were one of the things that I had on the top of my list as far as what was important to me, and Monique’s arrangements were as beautiful as my dreams!! I went in looking for mostly spring flowers for an August wedding, and she was able to suggest perfect alternatives that I ended up loving more than my original pictures. She got the colors perfect, and created beautiful pieces in cut glass vases that guests commented on all night!! I also asked for flowers for my hair, and she added on attachments that the hairdressers said they’d never seen before, and were so appreciative of. The hair flowers and also boutonnières that she comes and pins herself stayed put all night! I also asked for some unusual touches, like four small tossing bouquets that would separate when tossed, and she executed them perfectly. I decided to reuse the flowers from the ceremony at the reception, and Monique and I had discussed me finding a family member to carry them over from the ceremony site to the reception site, but she surprised me the day of by staying through the ceremony and bringing them over herself!! She also left vases for the bridesmaids and bridal bouquets at the reception so they had water. It was SO thoughtful and above and beyond what I could have asked for. She also lets you leave rented vases at the reception site and she picks them up herself, leaving you with less hassle the day after. I think that my wedding weekend might also be her son’s birthday weekend, and there was flooding in Ithaca that weekend that effected her as well, but she still went out of her way to make my day special. She even spread my train for me before I started down the aisle with my dad. Her prices are really great for what she provides, and I recommend French Lavender Florist for your wedding three times over. Thank you so much, Monique, for all you did for us! Monique worked within our budget and put together some AMAZING Fall wildflower arrangements. We were particular that we wanted local, wildflowers to be used and she certainly came through! She took the time to understand what we wanted and spent more time than she needed visiting the reception location and putting together a vision for the design of our ceremony and reception space. Quite simply, the wedding day would not have had the atmosphere it did without Monique.
I got married at Stewart Park in Ithaca in September 2015 (finally getting around to posting reviews, woops), and Monique at French Lavender was our florist. She was amazing to work with. We walked in with a couple of simple pictures of what we wanted, barely knowing the names of the flowers we liked, and at our ceremony, the flowers were absolutely beautiful and looked great in the pictures. Coordination with her was a breeze - since we live in NC, we only met with her once, and then she was always available to answer our questions over phone and email. She personally dropped off flowers for the cake at the bakery, took centerpieces to our reception venue, brought our bouquets with water to keep them in to the hotel so that they looked fresh and clean through the photos and ceremony, and set up the displays for the ceremony in plenty of time despite the chairs arriving late. Monique put her own personal touch into our flowers while making sure that we had exactly what we wanted, and made it easy for us throughout the process. Prices were reasonable and well worth it. Would recommend to anyone hosting a large event in the Ithaca area.
We had SO MANY guests complimenting us on the flowers and those guests who took home centerpieces raved about the flowers for two more weeks! I cannot recommend Monique and French Lavender more highly - you will not be disappointed!
Monique is an amazing Florist! Not only is she gifted with working with people, but her mastery of her trade is unparalleled. Being from Syracuse, and having my wedding in Ithaca, I was nervous about not knowing anything about the florist, and also not being able to be near the business until the wedding day. I had one meeting with Monique and she was so careful to understand me as a bride and my desires for the style of the wedding. She understood how important her role was in the day and delivered above expectation. She struggled with some illness in the months before my wedding but that never stopped her from keeping quick and open communication with me, no did it compromise the quality of what she designed for me. I could not have been happier with the finished product and I would highly recommend French Lavender to any and every bride!
Monique was recommended to us by our wedding venue, the John Joseph Inn, and I don't know if we would have found her otherwise - she is a truly a hidden gem! She did an absolutely amazing job, and for an extremely reasonable price. She was super responsive throughout the process (and we live in NYC so it was important to be able to communicate via email/phone) and we felt very comfortable with her throughout. I literally knew nothing about flowers but just had some photos of things I thought I liked, and she made me feel very comfortable describing what she could do and how it would all look. She gave us helpful recommendations on what would and wouldn't look good, how to get the best use of our dollars with certain flowers, etc. She is also just a DELIGHTFUL person overall - she was literally the one fixing my train and making sure my bouquet and veil were perfect before walking down the aisle. And, she gave our dog lots of treats :) Above and beyond her florist duties and definitely made our wedding day amazing. Thank you Monique!!
Monique is WONDERFUL at what she does! From our first meeting with her, she looked at the big picture and understood our vision for the flowers and design at our wedding. We found that the ideas she suggested were ideas we had already been thinking of but had not yet expressed - we were clearly on the same page!
