Cinemapolis is a five screen Indy theater located just off the Ithaca Commons with easy parking options. The organization that operates it is a non-profit, and memberships are available for those inclined. Their fresh popcorn is available with real butter and a variety of toppings (including nutritional yeast, olive oil, and parmesan cheese). The movie selections are thoughtful and we're fortunate to have such a resource in a small city.

The only drawback is the art culture crowd that thinks an experience they are having is more important than general agreed etiquette as the patronage. Shoes were removed and bare feet were hung over seats by my neighboring viewers.

Cinemapolis shows foreign, indie and some mainstream films. Also National Theatre events such as Benedict Cumberbatch in Hamlet. The theaters are comfortable and accessible, with areas reserved for persons with disabilities and their companions. Restrooms are clean and convenient. You will experience a friendly atmosphere with an artsy flair.

Great movies. Great snacks. A down side is that there is a lot of dampness in the space, and sometimes the deodorizer is pretty overwhelming - especially in summer. Best popcorn ever! Real butter and toppings, and a nice space to rent for events.

Small and intimate rooms, with brilliantly selected movies that can only be seen here. I'm so happy with this place. I hope they can stay open for years to come.

Overall joy and excitement to be able to see Loving Vincent a movie that was passed on by the chain stores.

A memoir of what movie theatres used to be.

A helpful friendly staff actually interacted with me in person. Shocked by the lack of glass, I almost didn't have the wherewithal, to respond. I couldn't have been happier till I found out they served coffee. Further delighted when they rang it up for $2.50, the cost of a ketchup at a larger theater.

Independently owned, by a community of film lovers.
