Casual tapas, terrific food. We ate indoors and that was fine. There's an outdoor garden in the back that might have been even nicer but didn't want to wait a half hour. 4 of us ate more than enough for under $100 including tax and tip
I am in my mid-twenties; my partner is in her mid-twenties; my best friend is in her mid twenties.
I would be forgiving. But the THIRD time? After we have tipped so well the previous times we've been here (because we've all worked service jobs), you'd think they would change their stereotypes. Nope.
This is the THIRD time we've experienced this. We are VERY good tippers, but because we we are young, we're assumed to be cheap.
Where does this review come from? The service.
The kicker? They were seated after us.
A lot of small plates to choose from, but the quantity is not that great. Usually very crowded, and has long wait times. Has a good selection of wines and beer. The service is adequate and could definitely be improved.
The table we were talking about above? They were middle-aged.
A wonderful experience! The menu contains some "old favorites" while other selections change on a daily basis. The "tapas" size of most dishes means two people can order about 4-5 plates, depending on what is ordered. (Personally, I usually go with something like a bread, a salad, a side vegetable, and a fish/meat entree, sometimes adding dessert.) In addition to the inventive tapas, there is an extensive wine list complete with suggested flights and an option to create your own. They do not accept call-ahead reservations, so if you plan to go between about 6 and 8, arrive early. Ask to sit in the outdoor patio in the back, if you can.
Basically if you are going to this restaurant, make sure you look like you're gonna tip a lot, or else they won't 'serve' you.
Very much enjoyed this place. Went with a group and shared a few different things. We got some break and garlic oil. Incredible. Everything there was delicious and we split the bill with our friends and it was under 100 dollars. Pretty cheap to have everyone eat under 20 dollars each for such great food. I will say we did have to wait a little but it was worth it.
It was 30 minutes before our server checked in on us. She made a point to get a table seated (two feet away from us), taken care of, check-in on them 4 times (we counted), AND serve them dessert ALL BEFORE clearing our stacked plates.
The only reason that I did not give it one star was because the wine and the food were delicious. The food is always so delicious!!
